Welcome, Dr. Amanda Ali!
We are delighted to welcome Dr. Amanda Ali as a new assistant scientist in the HFHS Bone & Joint Center. Amanda’s academic training includes a BSc in Integrative Biology and Health Studies from the University of Toronto (2007), a PhD from the Institute of Medical Science at the University of Toronto (2014), a post-doctoral fellowship in the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Western Ontario (2015-16), and a second post-doctoral fellowship at the Krembil Research Institute (University Health Network) in Toronto (2017-19). In addition to her academic achievements, Amanda has received numerous prizes, awards, and competitive fellowships for her research.
Amanda’s research interests include osteoarthritis, chondrosarcoma, genetics and genomics, next generation sequencing, chronic disease prevention and management, and pragmatic trials. The overall vision of her research program is to improve our understanding of the early genomic changes occurring at both local and systemic levels in osteoarthritis.
